These packages are for brides, grooms, parents, maids of honour, bridesmaids, groomsmen, and the best man. Everyone is welcome!

As you are probably aware, the skin is one of those things that is a labour of love. It can take time for skin to look its best, so in an ideal world planning ahead would be ideal. However, there are plenty of treatments that can improve the skin quickly if needed. In this blog, we will discuss which treatments need time and which can give a more instant glow.

Anti-wrinkle treatments

Anti-wrinkle treatment is used to reduce muscle strength, so you don’t produce as many lines. It can also be used to prevent lines becoming worse if they have already formed. The key is whether you have static or dynamic lines. What we mean by this is, are the lines just appearing when you raise your eyebrows, frown or smile, or are there they at rest when you aren’t doing these things. If the lines are static (there at rest), it may take more than one session to fade these lines. Therefore, starting this treatment early is recommended. Very deep lines can take over a year to fade and may never go completely, so it is important to have realistic expectations of this treatment. If you have only dynamic lines and no fine lines rest, you probably don’t need this treatment!

It takes at least a month to fully see the results of antiwrinkle treatments. So, if you have an event next week, there is no point in using this! Results start to wear off in 6 weeks, and usually gone within 3-4 months.

Filler treatment

Fillers aim to replace any lost volume and hide shadows on the face. As we age, our fat pads in the face start to reduce volume and therefore lead to shadows such as the nasolabial lines, or jowls around the chin area. Everyone ages at a slightly different rate due to genetics and also due to environmental factors or stress. Sadly, females tend to start to lose collagen at the age of 20 five, whereas men tend to start to lose their collagen at around 50. This lack of collagen and elastin tends to make these lines and shadows worse. Filler can be strategically placed in these areas to hide these lines and shadows. Fillers contain hyaluronic acid, which is found naturally in our bodies to support our collagen and last in. The results of fillers our immediate, but there can be some downtime associated with them such as bruising or swelling. Therefore, it is important to have these done usually at least three to four weeks before an event.

Microneedling

Microneedling is known as collagen induction, which as we have discussed is important as a preventative for age-related change to the skin. Microneedling uses very small needles which are applied to the skin using a device, creating small channels and essentially wounds, which then stimulate the skin to produce more collagen and elastin during the healing process. Various serums can be applied to the skin whilst having microneedling, which can improve concerns such as pigmentation, acne scarring, dry skin all red skin. However, microneedling takes time to have an effect. Treatments are provided one month apart, for at least three sessions. You will see changes after three sessions, however 6 sessions are sometimes recommended for those with more collagen loss and less skin quality.

Skin boosters

Skin boosters are injected superficially under the skin, and are generally hyaluronic acid based, but can have other ingredients in them. They aim to improve the moisture level in the skin and also act on fibroblast cells to produce more collagen and elastin. Those products having amino acids included in them for example, stimulate various types of collagen, but they do cost more money. As with most products within the beauty industry, there are lots to choose from. At London & Surrey aesthetics we tend to choose the most effective and high-quality products, because we know that they get better results in the long run. They can be used in the under eye area with good success. Again, skin boosters take some time to work. Sunekos, which is one of the products we use here at London & Surrey aesthetics, takes four sessions every 7 to 10 days, and the results are generally seen at a maximum of three months. They tend to last around six months. Therefore, again planning would be recommended for this treatment.

Polynucleotides

Polynucleotides are the building blocks of your skin and use fragments of DNA to rejuvenate and repair the skin. A minimum course of 3 treatments is required spaced 1 months apart. Again, it takes time to see a result – usually at least 3 months and therefore these will need to be applied in advance of your special day. They help to treat wrinkles, texture, build collagen and elastin to improve thickness of the skin. They are good for the under-eye area which is often an area of concern.

Hair loss treatment

Both men and women can start to have hair thinning dependent on their age. For men this can happen in their early 20s onwards, whereas for females it tends to be around the menopause. There are some very good treatments that can be offered for hair loss that have a reasonable result within three months. Obviously as time goes on the result tends to get better and better. At London & Surrey aesthetics we use AnteAge MD which is a very powerful product, made from synthetic growth factors derived from human bone marrow stem cells. This means that this product is suitable for those who are pregnant (who often suffer hair loss), and those on cancer treatments such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Many products on the market boast growth factors derived from stem cells, but the stem cells are plant based, rather than human based. This means that they have different signalling systems in comparison to human based stem cells. This is why we find AnteAge MD products to be excellent at producing hair growth.

Chemical peels

Chemical peels are acids derived from various plants which aim to remove the outer layer of the skin, revealing younger more vibrant skin. They can be used to improve a multitude of skin conditions such as fine lines, texture, pigmentation and acne or acne scarring. The acids range in strength, with stronger acids only being suitable for certain skin types, however, the more superficial peels can be suitable for most skin types. A course of treatment is recommended and again therefore need to be applied a few months before an event to get the best effect.

Radiofrequency and Electroporation facial

Radio frequency treatment aims to gently warm the skin to try to tighten it and lift very slightly. Electroporation opens the cell walls to allow better permeation of skin care products. This combination of treatments therefore improves the overall radiance and glow of the skin, and can lift the skin slightly. It can improve appearance of the skin after one session. It is therefore an excellent treatment if you have an event very soon. This treatment can be applied twice a week to boost the skin quickly. Various serums and moisturisers are applied during treatment which will be tailored to your particular concern, such as redness, dryness, pigmentation, or acne.

Conclusion:

As you can see, these various treatments can be applied either individually or in combination to give your skin the most amazing glow and radiance. However, planning will be required for some. At London & Surrey Aesthetics, we pride ourselves on giving you a thorough consultation, finding out about your concerns, and providing you with a bespoke programme to suit your needs and time frame.
