Radiofrequency or RF is a heat producing treatment which aims to lift and tighten the skin. It is non-invasive, can be used on all skin types, with minimal to no downtime. The heat penetrates both the epidermis and dermis and heats them to around 39-42°C. This stimulates collagen and elastin production in the skin which in turn helps to tighten the skin. It is one of the only non-surgical treatments to tighten skin and can be used on a variety of different areas, such as the neck, abdomen, thighs and buttocks. It has also been used to help reduce cellulite. However, multiple treatments are required to see good results, and the particular RF machine used in this clinic is more suited to facial rejuvenation rather than body. We can recommend clinics which have superior machines for body treatment.
Electroporation is essentially non-needle mesotherapy which, with the aid of an electromagnetic pulse, helps to push skincare products into the skin so that they can be absorbed at a deeper level. Serums which are designed to alleviate the common skin conditions such as acne, lines and winkles, dryness or sensitivity can be applied to the skin whilst using electroporation. Again, multiple treatments are required to see results and both RF and electroporation are combined in one treatment session.
For those with higher quality skin, weekly treatment for 4 weeks, with maintenance every 6-8 weeks, is recommended. For those with moderately poor skin, weekly sessions for 6 weeks are required, with maintenance every 4-6 weeks. For those with severe skin issues, weekly sessions for 8 weeks are required, with maintenance every 3-4 weeks.

Radiofrequency and Electroporation Treatment at London and Surrey Aesthetics Clinic
The London and Surrey Aesthetics Clinic in London, offers Radiofrequency and Electroporation treatment. These non-invasive procedures are designed to improve the appearance and texture of the skin and can be used to target a range of concerns, including fine lines and wrinkles, sagging skin, and uneven skin tone.
How Radiofrequency Works
Radiofrequency (RF) technology uses energy to heat the deep layers of the skin, which stimulates collagen production and promotes skin tightening. The heat also helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and can be used to contour the face.
How Electroporation Works
Electroporation is a non-invasive technique that uses electrical currents to deliver skincare products deep into the skin. The electrical pulses temporarily open channels on cell walls, allowing the products to penetrate more effectively. This can lead to improved hydration, smoother skin texture, and a brightened complexion.
What to Expect During Treatment
Radiofrequency and Electroporation treatments typically take between 20-40 minutes, depending on the area being treated. A gel is applied to the skin to help conduct the electrical current, and a handheld device is used to administer the treatment. The products used during treatments include lower molecular weight hyaluronic acid and antioxidants to deeply moisturize and improve the skin quality. Most patients report feeling a mild heat sensation during the radiofrequency and tingling during the electroporation, but this is generally well-tolerated. Some will have a small degree of skin redness, flushing, itching or tenderness, but this often resolves in a few hours. There is a small risk of bruising, with the highest risk being around the eye contour. The risk of bruising increases if you are on certain medication such as blood thinning drugs, but is temporary.
Recovery and Results
There is little to no downtime associated with Radiofrequency and Electroporation treatments, and most patients are able to resume normal activities immediately. Results are often visible immediately following treatment, with continued improvement over the course of several weeks as collagen production is stimulated. It is expected that multipole sessions will be required for optimal effect. For those with less skin wrinkles and problems, 4 sessions may be enough, for those with more static lines and wrinkles, more problematic skin, 8 sessions may be required. It is expected that maintenance treatments will be required, but the frequency will depend on the individual person and their skin condition.
